Ideas are born in science every day. They are the basis for creating something new and shaping the world of tomorrow. Ruhr-Universität Bochum is characterized by its excellent teaching and research and its commitment to the start-up scene. As one of the leading universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Ruhr-Universität Bochum actively supports the founding and transfer of innovative ideas into the economy.

The aim of the campaign we developed is to highlight Ruhr-Universität Bochum as a pioneer in the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Discover the founding university

We show a picture of the lived present and thus paint a picture of the future. With success stories, with movers and shakers, we report on start-up-friendly infrastructure, transport the well-founded know-how from science and practice and highlight the result of the customized consulting approach as a guiding principle. On the campaign landing page, we provide insights into the mindset of the founders, insights into the status quo of the companies and take stock of what the founders appreciate about the Gründungsuni Bochum.

Multi-channel strategy

“Made in Germany” is a globally recognized designation of origin that stands as a seal of quality for services and quality goods produced in Germany. We interpret this designation of origin in our own way. “Founded in Bochum, made for future” is a proud distinction, a seal of quality for spin-offs from the university.

Founding is a matter of character

The story behind the business story is told by the founders of four selected start-ups who have already taken the step from idea to foundation. The shots of the testimonial campaign motifs were taken in the Maker Spaces of the WORLDFACTORY Start-up Center not far from the university campus.

Mail for the ministry

To promote the start-up activities of Ruhr-Universität Bochum, an eye-catching print mailing was sent to the various state and federal ministries, which unfolded its message sequentially up to an A2 poster format.

Top address for start-ups

Using various out-of-home media, the campaign attracts attention both regionally and nationally and increases awareness of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum as a start-up university by 28.4% in the region.

By 2030, more than 30 billion euros in public and private funds are to be made available for investment in start-ups. Today, Ruhr-Universität Bochum is ready to strengthen innovation, to support start-ups, to turn ideas into action and to create momentum for Germany.
